Why the hours haven't been compounding

Most plateaus are an instruction gap, not a talent gap.

You've put the hours in. You've cared about the work. And the music has stayed almost — but not quite — where it was. From the inside, that looks like a discipline problem. From the outside, it almost never is.

Before

  • Practice that feels like effort without traction
  • Tension that returns the moment you reach for speed
  • Sound that lands on the keys
  • Repertoire that stays one level out of reach

After

  • Practice that feels like work, in the direction of something
  • The wrist that follows the arm instead of bracing against it
  • Sound that travels into the keys
  • Repertoire that starts behaving the way you always heard it should
What students say

★★★★★
“I’m a pro member of Pianofantasy for 1 year now. I already learned a lot from Lars’ Super Fingers course, the live lessons and feedback that I and other students get. It’s very inspiring and motivating and it makes me want to improve my piano skills continuously.”

“Even after a short time working on Modules 1 & 2, found a marked improvement in surety of finger control. Combining Lars demonstrations and the PDF’s are working well for me.”

What's inside

Four ways the work compounds.

Monthly live lesson on Zoom with Lars

Monthly Live Lessons

From inside your own playing, you can’t see the cause underneath the mistake you keep repeating — self-monitoring is structurally unreliable.

Someone is finally watching the cause, and naming it.

Courses

On your own it’s a pile of tips from everywhere, and none of them are in an order — so the hours never stack into anything.

A path instead of a pile — so the practice you’re already doing starts to add up.

Resource Library

You hit one specific wall, searched for the answer, and got ten contradictory ones — so you stayed stuck on it.

When you hit a wall, there’s one authoritative answer waiting — not ten that cancel each other out.

Piano Fantasy community — members sharing and learning together

Community

No one around you understands why you’d spend a week on one motion, so the work quietly stops mattering — and then it quietly stops.

A small room of people who get why one motion is worth a week — enough to keep you in the work.

About the teacher

I started teaching seriously around twenty-five years ago, after seven years at the conservatory in Maastricht studying with Avi Schönfeld. The masterclasses I took during those years — French tradition, Russian tradition — shaped how I think about arm, wrist, and sound. Most of what I teach now I learned by watching what worked and what didn’t, with a lot of different students, over a long time.

Pro Member is the version of that teaching I can put in front of serious piano learners who don’t live anywhere near me. It is not a shortcut, and it is not just a system. It is what I would say in a lesson if you were sitting at the piano next to me — laid out so you can come back to any part of it whenever the music asks.

Who this is for

Pro Member is a specific offer for a specific kind of learner.

Pro Member is for…

  • Piano learners who treat the instrument as something that matters — and want their practice to compound, not just fill time.
  • Players aspiring to real repertoire — Chopin, Schubert, Debussy, Mozart, the standard concert ground.
  • People who can already read music and navigate the keyboard, and want to understand what the technique is actually doing.
  • Learners who practice consistently and want the practice to stop feeling like effort without traction.

Pro Member is not for…

  • Complete beginners who haven't yet learned to read music or play simple pieces end-to-end.
  • Players looking for quick fixes or entertainment content rather than structured, substantive instruction.
  • Anyone who wants passive consumption — the community and live lessons require actual participation.
